Moving to southwest Portland
Moving to southwest Portland, Oregon, then you are going to be able to enjoy pleasures of a big city with the small town feel. Its serene weather conditions, magnificent landscape, stimulating location and welcoming citizens have all been a factor to its appearance on various “Best Of” lists. The city is situated amid the gorgeous Coast Range on the west and the fabulous Cascade Range on the east. Portland is located at the intersection of the Columbia and Willamette rivers.

If you are looking for reason for moving to southwest Portland, it’s a short time drive of about 90 minute to the picturesque Oregon coast or to Mt. Hood and some of the best skiing in the country. And if you want to reach somewhere even faster, you can visit the peaceful vineyards and farms of the fertile Willamette Valley, which only a half-an-hour drive. Or you can go for the Mariner’s game in Seattle, which would take you less than three hours.

Sheltered by two mountain ranges, moving to southwest Portland you will experience mild weather all year long. Hardly ever would you live through the harsh weather extremes ordinarily experienced elsewhere in the country. However, having said that it doesn’t imply that Portland doesn’t have seasons. You do have the summer in the month of July and August when the temperatures do reach into the upper 70’s and lower 80’s. You would see the fall color with the many deciduous trees around the city. Also, as winter comes you can experience one or two occasional winter snowstorm that blankets the city in couple of inches of snow. Usually the snowstorms are short lived and you would rarely have to suffer any major annoyance. And of course the spring blossoms bring in the roses that Portland is so famous for.

The Portland metropolitan area comprises of six counties.  Within each of these counties are cities and towns with their own unique flavor, and within the city of Portland there are dozens of distinctive neighborhoods. By moving to Southwest Portland, you would be located in the city’s southwest quadrant. You can have easy access to parking, free public transportation, and tree-lined, pedestrian-friendly streets. It doesn’t matter what brings your to Portland, if it work or if it play, in either case with luxurious apartments, condominiums and lofts, downtown Portland is an excellent site to be in. Moving to Southwest Portland residences would allow you to benefit from the spectacular views, off street parking, and other amenities.
